Can I use Adobe Acrobat Reader 7?
Hey all, has anyone used Acrobat Reader 7.0 in Puppy? I downloaded it tonight, but couldn't get it to run. It comes up with an 'Aborted' error message. Maybe GTK+ 2.4 is needed?? I'd love to have it running so that I can bring work home. We are dealing with PDF 1.6 compliant forms, and need all the ...

I'd just like to add my two cents in here, and I do think that I am probably in the minority. When I come to the Puppy Linux Forum, I like to read about Puppy Linux. I'm not afraid of debate, and I certainly believe that debate is necessary, particularly to democracies. I just don't enjoy the debate...

Binary Clock
I really love binary clocks, but have not found one in a format that I liked. Instead, I wrote my own: dotted_clock http://thoughtjourney.aus.cc/images/dotclock.png The image above shows dotted_clock version 0.1 in action. The clock displays local time in binary format, as follows: hour : minutes To...

I think the functionality set appealed to me. I did actually download a windows version for my hubby's laptop, 'cause I liked it so much....

I love Opera, myself, and use it at work even though I am probably not supposed to. For Puppy, though, an important consideration is that it is closed source, and not really in keeping with Puppy philosophy. Opera certainly has the best full-screen functionality of any browser I've come across, and ...

Delete Shortcut Bug in jwmConfig - patch
There is a bug in one of the jwmConfig scripts, /root/.jwm/confirmKey in the just-released 1.0.5. This script attempted to modify an incorrect config file... the attched dotpup fixes the problem. Just download the dotpup, run the dotpup installer, and next time you run jwmConfig, all will be sweet.

Thanks, Lobster :) Your .jwmrc file looks fine ... I trust all is working in 1.0.5RC?? There were a few bugs in that version, but they have been sorted out for the for the full release. I just used ash/bash scripts with gtkdialog and Xdialog because that was all I needed. To be honest, I didn't even...

Sorry to not have been here sooner. I don't have an internet connection at home at the moment... I'm glad people like jwmConfigMgr. I'm working on a few improvements for the next release. I should let you know that the JWM theme dotpups I posted a while ago won't work with this version simply becaus...

Yep, I've used that site before. I love the background. Puppy Sourcerer has really piqued my interest. What a great idea it is! Flexible Puppies. I used gentoo once, compiling everything, but couldn't get X to start. After playing with Puppy and Vector, I know why. Prior to that, I tried LFS, but di...

JWM Config Mgr
Hi Barry,
the JWM config Mgr is just about ready to go. I'd like for you to see it before i move onto looking at the integration of GTK themes with JWM themes, to make sure you are happy with what I'm doing. I can send you the scripts if you like.

Yes, I must add that I am not disappointed. I would have liked apps such as KDevelop, and I do like konqueror, but more importantly, I love that Puppy has its own character, and I think it would have lost some of that in moving to KDE. I find that I have all the tools I need as it is, and I certainl...
