If this truly is the place to request dot-pups, then I would strongly, from the bottom of my heart request that some smart bastard try and port VLC for Puppy.... It really is the superior media player as far as I'm concerned, I've even got it to play full-srceen in Win98 (where nothing else would).....

The Xine engine fails to start? That seems to Xine for you (sorry xine fans). I find that Xine isn't really the best media player for playing mp3's or video's that have spaces in their names. Maybe try renaming the media you're trying to play, or get Mplayer. [/b]

I'm not sure why you don't have the seagull as yer default background, but you should be able to set whatever picture you want as your background by searching the start menu. Go to Control Panel, Desktop Background (or something really close, not on Puppy right now sorry). You can then set whatever ...
