I installed acpid-1.0.8-2-i486.pet, rebooted and tried to shutdown computer by pressing the power-button. It switched off without any preparing procedures. Now puppy cannot boot, stops after "Recognising media devices".
What to do ?!!!!

Cause of trouble with x-server i understood. I did power-off just by pressing power button. I didn't know that Puppy can't work with power of computer like other OS-s.

I cannot do it :( . All i did is get one line at boot: "Linux (on /dev/sda2)", and i still should press "Enter" to begin a boot. What should i read and where can i get it to understand how should menu.lst looks to boot without question just after pressing power-button ? And some ...

Ah it's not just me....a grub booted menu asking if you want a grub booted menu installing......Our's is not to question why..... Delete the crap...you will feel better :D mike I misunderstood. What means "Delete the crap" ? (I'm very newby :oops: ) What exactly and where should i delete ?

Now i try edit menu.lst to make comp to boot just after switching on, without proposing me to write GRUB files on HDD.
What is the sense in this action ? Why could i want to save GRUB files on HDD ?

I did FULL install. It is surely. And i checked presence of initrd folder. There is no it. And something happened ... After you all answered, i switched on my computer and ... it booted without questions (only firstly asked whether to boot from HDD ?) :oops: I don't know how it happened !!! The prob...

Puppy not saving configuration

Hi !
I installed Puppy on hard drive and thought i would get OS, which boots itself. But i still should point to Puppy parameters of my keyboard, monitor and others every time i switch computer on. What should i do to save those one time and Puppy begin boot without my help ?
