I just cured my synaptics touchpad problem by adding

i8042.nomux=1

to /boot/grub/menu.lst

as suggested here...

I have the same problem except I want to use the scroll function on my touchpad. You could maybe try changing the Option "TouchpadOff" "1" to Option "TouchpadOff" "0" in Xorg.conf However it could be the synaptics driver isn't loading like mine... even though ...

I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere but....

I'm using the 'cerium' theme at the mo & when I hover the mouse over the clock I see the date show on the clock face which I really like...
Is it easy to set other themes to do this too?

audio stuttering on aspire one

Hi guys just popped back to let you know the audio problem I was having on the macpup foxy HD install seems resolved. I added pci=noacpi to my syslinux.cfg file and everything seems ok. I had previously installed the latest alsa files as supplied by patriot without any change. Hope this info helps s...

zp40305.sfs is in /mnt/home yes although I don't remember manually putting it there. Alsa mixer is functioning ok ( i did add the option line in module.conf ) as suggested by tempestuous I think, volume control, pan & mute all work but sound is playing in a stuttering/looping fashion. Oh inciden...

ah I see I'm pretty sure my latest HD install is frugal but I don't think I'm using grub.... at least when booting from HD I don't get a grub menu like I do on my old dell which is dual xp/macpup. could that be a possible problem? if you fancy doing that alsa comp I'd be very interested to hear abou...
