Thank you everybody - that worked wonderfully. But the funny thing is that I did actually have .jwmrc-tray in /root, although it was an empty file. Glad you've got it working. :) The empty .jwmrc-tray would have been created by the configuration script when you tried to turn the autohide feature on.

I knew I shouldn't have downloaded this! I was all set to use 109CE as the basis for the next release of KwillerPup and now I can't decide between 109 and 2! :D 2 really is very good for an alpha release - I particularly like GParted, but did have to set up the scrollwheel on my mouse after installa...

... So it's most likely an upgrade related issue that can be resolved just by adding the correct file.... My earlier remarks about upgrades as opposed to fresh installs are incorrect due to my use of the wrong virtual hard-disk in my virtual test box. The bug occurs in fresh installs also an...

Let me repeat it: Nathan moved it under ~/.jwm for the final version of the liveCD 109. .... Profuse apologies for mis-reading your post - I'll try using my glasses next time! Yes moving .jwmrc-tray would break the script. I thought, and still think, the /root directory, alongside .jwmrc, is...

I don't have puppy here (I'm at the office) But I think I can guess what the problem is. kwiller: You hardcoded the location of the .jwmrc-tray instead of getting that location from the .jwmrc file, isn't it? .... Am I correct? No, I'm afraid that's not really it. Yes I have hardcoded the file loca...

:) It was not in my root as a hidden file (Rox - right click on directory and show hidden) As I have been swaping between Puppy2 Alpha7 !.09CE and 1.08r1 I have absolutely no idea what exactly I have . . . or rather have not . . . Many thanks kwiller - hope this solves the problem for our friend I'...

I get the same thing Is it the same in 108r1? Has it been fixed in Puppy2? :? It was not working in 1.08r1 so was fixed for 1.09CE and 2. Is this failure happening with fresh installs or upgrades? Edit. I've attached an archive with the new .jwmrc and .jwmrc-tray files needed by the jwm configurati...

jwm configuration

It should be working. The 1.09CE JWM configuration script uses a new file .jwmrc-tray (a hidden file starting with a ".") for the tray/taskbar options. Can you check to see if you have this file in your /root directory and that it's writable by root?

Mousekeys

Having further investigated the problem I'm not even sure that xfce would be any better than jwm in providing a solution to the too-fast-double-click case. At this point I'd just like to declare a personal interest in finding a solution, as I suffer from Parkinson's disease and have recently been fi...

Still no joy. I have searched for other things that might affect the double click speed (lke MultiClickTime, DoubleClickTime) but they don't seem to exist. I am pretty sure the present, presumably default, double click speed is in fact faster than the 400 ms that it appeared to be set to in .jwmc. ...

Screenshot

As I'm having a lazy Sunday afternoon dog-sittng I thought I'd put up a screen shot of the modified jwm Config Manager running on my Puppy 1.0.8 test installation. The taskbar has been positioned at the top with height set to "tall" (130% of normal), 6 desktops, and programs inserted into ...

Updated files

I've attached an archive with the updated files. Two points, one major, one minor: Major The latest version of jwm appears to allow multiple trays to be defined. It is thus not possible to override <Tray> attributes with a new <Tray> tag as it gets interpreted as a new Tray. So I've moved the Tray d...

Anyway, there's a few more broken functions than that one. I just gave that as an example of one that I knew the cause of. I think I included in the mantis tracker all the functions that have a problem. I've just signed up at the tracker (thanks for the pointer) and found the enhancement request (i...

OK, I'll see what I can get done over this coming weekend.

Is there any need for a jwmrc-personal conversion script?

Re: Small

That is really a small package, as the one prepared here is 10 MB. I trust you were comparing the 10MB with the 2.7MB dotpup - and not the 89KB of the headers add-on archive! :D But yes, this dotpup is a space saver and I'm using it as the basis of the PupGet Python package I'll be including in the...
