I never thought of applying the default gtk theme to darktable, as I'm quite satisfied with its original appearance. Still, it is nice to know that I can do that if I want to. I'm glad to find that it works well for you. I discovered darktable a few months ago and while there was a bit of a learning...

Darktable 1.0.3 for Lucid Puppy 5.2!
If you are into photography and are looking for a great free raw editor similar to Adobe Lightroom, you're in luck. Darktable 1.0.3 is here! I have been using earlier versions of this software for a few months in Ubuntu and have gotten impressive results with it -- even in heavily edited scanned jpe...

Update.......
I managed to have gotten blender 2.61 with cycles to work with fluid simulation. The build on graphicall.org still does not support it, but someone on there got it to work by downloading a ppa build. I followed suit, placed the new build along with the required extra libraries in with an extracted c...

Despite the potential problem of the fluid simulation, Cycles is still good for viewing your render in real time without re-rendering. **update** I was able to get some fluid simulation in Windows (albeit not correctly) but still unable to get it in ubuntu. I haven't tried fluid sim specifically in ...

Blender 2.61 with Cycles
For those of you who want to try out the new Cycles rendering engine in Blender 2.61, I have uploaded it. You need the Xorg-High package for this to work. The Cycles rendering engine claims to yield more realistic renders and nice fluid simulations (I am currently trying the fluid sim out with the h...

The Logitech c160m webcam in LucidPup 520
To anybody on the market for a webcam to use with Puppy, I recommend the Logitech c160m, available at Walmart for about $20.00 USD. Its compact, captures good video, and is very easy to install..... Just plug it in, fire up Luvcview, and it works....... Luvcview does gripe about it not being configu...

Intel Pocket PC camera as a webcam in puppy? [Solved]
I have an old Intel Pocket PC Camera that functioned well as a webcam in Win98. I can use GtKam to retrieve stored pics from it in puppy, but I cannot get it to function as a webcam, which is really what I'd like it to do. The camera gets recognized in programs like skype and others as an Intel CS63...

I might have to try that.... Ill try it in a separate live session to see if it works.... Truth is, I don't like xvesa as much as xorg, when it comes to graphics, and I also work with blender occasionally for 3d stuff. I also should try it on my desktop, which has NVIDIA graphics and compare the res...

Im actually using L0wt3ch's puppy studio with the rt kernel (recompiled by me for LSI Fusion support), and I believe I do have the xorg-high package installed. I am definitely using xorg not xvesa. Its not just in puppy either.. it does the same in ArtistX (Ubuntu). Speaking of a recompiled kernel, ...

"Mouse Droppings" in GIMP
When using GIMP, especially with large files or those with several layers, I seem to be getting mouse droppings all over the image whenever i move my mouse.... Not only is this very annoying, but it also inhibits my ability to do any fine retouching of photos. This seems to happen whether I use gimp...

A way to load .sfs modules without frugal install or pupsave
In Puppy 4.2.1, I noticed I could right-click on a .sfs module and could load and use it without even having a pupsave file. I believe that was a script. Why didn't they ever bring that over to lucid-pup? Is there such a script actually available for LucidPup? I think that would be very convenient i...

try it again, jay. MU wrote me back on the 26th acknowledging it and he updated it. It should be ok now. I posted the explanation on how to use roxapps before I knew that the file was incomplete..... Left it there for those who don't know how roxapps work..... Nevertheless, heed my warning that this...

@puppyluvr: The AppRun script is supposed to make the directory /mnt/cinepaint, mount the cinepaint.rox4fs to that directory and export the paths inside the mount point as environment variables to be used by that script and child scripts. Everything the program needs to run is contained within that ...
