Yes, it does require the cd to play. Whenever I try to play, I get an error message, which, to paraphrase, says I must have my monitor set to a 256 color palette. I am familiar with this, back when I had a windows 98 pc, I had to change the setting, and it was very simple to do. I just kinda took it...

I wish for a less confusing file system. Just giving the folders names that actually give you a clue as to what is inside of them would be a HUGE improvement. As it is, when I open My Computer (not sure what else to call it) I get thoroughly lost very fast. Also, a way to adjust monitor brightness w...

Make it so that a reboot is not required when I insert a cd
I like Puppy very much, but a few things do annoy me. One is this. Why must I have media inserted during boot-up for puppy to detect it? I mean, if I insert a cd, usb flash drive, etc, in ANY other os, it just shows up.

How do I set my display to 256 colors?
I have an old Windows 95 game that I have been wanting to play for about a year now, but both of my desktop computers will not install/run it, even in compatibility mode (one has Windows XP, the other, Windows 7). So imagine my delight when I discovered that Wine has a setting for windows 95 and 98 ...

Seeking a hassle-free wireless adapter
I have a llinksys wpc54G V4, and while it can supposedly be made to work, I am sick and tired of messing with linux. Is there any adapter that: A. Will just WORK, without me having to jump through a million flaming hoops, and B. Can be had for relatively cheap?

What the heck is ndiswrapper? I don't have the cd that came with the card; I bought it used. This is what turned me away from linux in the past. Everything is so damn complicated from installing software, to deciphering the funky names that applications in linux have. And many things just don't work...

How to use Linksys WPC54G wireless card?
Hello all. This is my second attempt to use Linux, and let me say, this distro is great! Now, I installed this OS on an old laptop, and want to use a Linksys Wireless G network card (WPC54G, version 4) to, you guessed it, access the internet. But when I plug it in, nothing happens. I am used to my w...
