Thanks !

Thanks a bunch! I'm trying to de-Google-fy myself after having one of my credit cards cloned. Pretty sure it happened while at work. I work for a major university and the withdrawals came from a convenience store just off campus that I've never used. Moving to Dissenter and trying to get a VPN up an...

What is Bionicpup 64 root password?

I'm trying to install Dissenter Browser .rpm in Bionic64 and it's asking me for a 'root password'. I tried 'inux', the password from the old days but it failed. Should I be using .rpm of .deb for Bionic64?

Works on SSD in Lenovo G50-30

I've been running PuppEx Tahr(frugal) on a Samsung 840 Pro SSD for about 6 months. It was the only Linux I found that wifi worked out of box but it was cranky. PuppEx Slacko doesn't seem to have any issues with the Realtek 8723BE wifi card that PuppEx Tahr showed. Love the speed that the 64bit OS is...

Works in Precise Puppy 5.4.3

I got it to work in 5.4.3 following Sylvander's steps. I tried to get the Chrome 38.pet to install in Lucid but no luck. Maybe somebody with some major .pet kung-fu could do it.

Installed on on a Toshiba Tecra M5(2006)

Thanks, Exton! I couldn't Tahr 6.0 to recognize my sound card on my ancient laptop but your remastered distro works like a charm! BTW Scabz Chrome 39 .pet worked great in PuppEx and you can watch NetFlix in Linux now if you follow Sylvander's installation instruction. http://murga-linux.com/puppy/vi...

Precise 5.7.1 and PuppEx Tahr 6.0

I've got it to work on two vastly different machine. It works under Precise 5.7.1 and Tahr 5.8.3 on my Asus M5A97 with AMD FX4100 CPU. I can't get Tahr 6+ to recognize my keyboard on this machine. I've got an Toshiba Tecra M5 1.6 CoreDuo laptop with PuppEx Tahr 6 installed and if you follow Sylvande...

No sound card found

Tahr pup 6.0 won't find the audio card on my '07 Toshiba Tecra M5. It won't even recognize my keyboard when running from a live cd on my Asus M5A97 mobo. Tahr 5.8.3 had no problems at all. :?

Wifi and browser report

Well Partsman Akita14 version with the 2.6.32.28 kernel hooked up just fine with the secure wifi at work first time. My Toshiba Tecra M5 didn't like Chrome 7 in this version at all. Seamonkey 2.0.x and Firefox 13 are both crashy. Firefox 17ESR works fine QTWeb works fairly well, too but slower to loa...

Are you rebooting your browser after installing?

I get my latest Flash Pet here and then install it and then reboot my browser. Be aware that the newest Iron probably won't work well in 5.1.1.

Much wifi weirdness

I was doing a monthly boot up via USB with Akita(beta 14 I believe) and I got connected on my first try at work(WPA2 with Dougal's network wizard). I tried for a week to do it with Akita beta 16 and Partsman's version as well but both wouldn't hook up to my works WPA2 connection no matter what I tri...

Some minor success

Partsman, I got on wifi with B-16-32.28 yesterday at work but not the main secure link but the open wifi link. Now, you B-16 won't log into the open either. Now B-15 won't go the secure link either. I have no trouble getting to the secure link(WPA2) at work with Precise 5.7.1 on the same machine,

Akita 16 .32.28 works

Thanks, Partsman. Your new kernel version works with my Asus M5A97 mobo and a AMD FX4100 CPU. I could never get connected online with the older kernel. Blazing fast with Qupzilla 1,3. Nicely done. I did have to install the latest flash.pet from the forum to get Youtube to work on it on both Qupzilla...

Did I do something wrong?

I downloaded and burned Akita 16 to CD and didn't see the new package manager. I did a frugal install on to a 32gb USB drive that had Akita 15 on it then did a save. It told me there was no save file on the reboot but was it was there under the Akita 16 folder when I opened rox filer. I deleted it a...

Connecting with Android Easytether Lite

If you own an Android smart phone, Easytether Lite is very simple to use. Download the PC drivers here: http://www.mobile-stream.com/easytether/drivers.html Use the Ubuntu driver. It opened with petget in Precise but Akita(Puppy 4.2 based) you'll have to convert it with the PPM. You'll need to insta...

Easytether .Pet works

I tested the Easytether driver pet on another older Akita thumbdrive and it's working right now as I type this. You still need to hit the Akita repo for the libusb-1.0.9_v2 .pet file to get to work correctly. One more thing I forgot to add. Is that I set up the network connect using Dougal's Network...

Working great on a Toshiba Tecra M5

I'm currently running Akita 15-1 off of a 32gb Sandisk USB stick with a '06-07 era Tecra M5 that I picked up dirt cheap. It has 2gb DDR2 RAM and a Core Duo T5500 1.66ghz CPU listed as Xeon processor under HardInfo . It seems slightly snappier than Precise Puppy 5.7.1 which I've installed on the hard...

Works fine in Precise 5.7

I've got it up and loaded on two different machines, One is my desktop which uses AMD FX4100 on an ASUS A5M97 mobo and a Toshiba Tecra M5 with a 1.66 Intel Core Duo. It's a bit slower to load on the Tecra but once up it's snappy enough. You're going to need more than 512mb RAM to run it properly. I'...
