Google Earth SFS for Xenialpup/Slacko 560/570/Racy 55

EDIT: Disregard this post. The Google Earth left-overs were in root. I just missed seeing them. Thanks Mike Walsh and OscarTalks . I un-installed Google Earth using Puppy Package Manager. Now, when I check Graphical Disk Map 0.8.1 there is still debris left over from the original install. The lefto...

Frugalpup Installer (@ Bigpup - New one to me). YAPI (@ Bigpup - Proves successful each time I've used it.). So, now it's off to the races to m...

Hi Bigpup , You write: Frugalpup Installer is a good installer to use. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=114340 Make sure to use the latest version, Frugalpup Installer is still being tweaked. How do I tell if the Frugalpup from Quickpet is the latest version? I updated BionicBeaver-6...

Semme, what about YAPI?

In my ancientness my eyesight is declining. I know YAPI frames by memory. Reading all the instructions that go with Isobooter download and implantation is a challenge for me.

I've used YAPI to set many other .isos. I've had good luck with YAPI.

Hello :) Google Earth is running in BionicBeaver-64 on a Dell Inspiron N7010 with 8GB of RAM. I loaded it this morning from Quickpet. Remove automatic pupsave for frugal installs

ozsouth,
Sky, could edit /etc/eventmanager & set RAMSAVEINTERVAL=0 (no periodic save).
Can alternatively, via the System menu, open Puppy Event Manager & change Save Session settings.
Perfect! Thank you, ozsouth.

I'm choosing the Puppy Event Manager option. :)

Fatdog64-720 and 721 Final [11 Jan 2018]

Hi don570,

Me too! I was delighted. The machine also has a DVD player, so, I can make live DVD/CD's again. The memory card reader helps too.

I feel so lucky.

Fatdog64-720 and 721 Final [11 Jan 2018]

Hi don570 and all,

I have good news. This week I was gifted with a lovely old Dell Inspiron N7010 - 6GB RAM with Webcam. The machine took BionicBeaver-64 with ZOOM-5 and presented no issues. FatDog 810 also takes ZOOM but I prefer to run in root.

All is good!

Hi ozsouth , You write: Sadly Sky, the design of the dm1 makes this unlikely. Thank you for validating my concern. That's what I thought about the little machine too. How to reduce background noise during a ZOOM session?

Hello, :) Is there is way to eliminate or reduce background noise during a ZOOM session? I am running BionicBeaver-64 on a HP dm1 with 4GB of RAM. The version of ZOOM is ZOOM-5. The HP dm1 heats up quickly and the fan kicks on during a ZOOM session. I am guessing it is the fan that is causing the ba...
