Hi Bruce, Thanks for the reply. I think a real fix is better than a work around, sure. # date -R Sun, 11 Apr 2010 04:00:33 -0800 This is the correct time zone (not far from you Bruce) but the wrong time. I can reset the date with date -s "4/10/10 21:00" , but it will not stick on reboot. t...

Date Bug on Puppy 431?

Is there a date bug on Puppy 431? Running debian with puppy frugal install. Debian gets the date/time right but I think it uses a NTP server to gets its time. Puppy used to get the date/time right when I had puppy setup as a dual-boot with win98se. Funny thing is puppy's time differs from the time r...

I can see that I certainly know far less than you do about servers, web or otherwise. I don't see how your web server can work if your ISP reassigns it a new IP address every time it reboots. How I set up a Hiawatha web server with Puppy

Hi All, About a year ago, I found an old laptop in the trash. It was a Gateway Solo 9100 with PII processor and win98se. It was bloated and slow, so I reinstalled win98se, and was searching for open source apps, when I came across open source OS's. Anyway, long story short, I tried various linux os'...

How to keep sound setup? Plus other questions.

Hi, I was lucky enough to find an old laptop sitting in the trash that actually worked. The only reason it was thrown away was that it was old. It had win98se on it but it was bloated and slow. So I thought, what better way to try out linux for a noob than an old machine that no one cares about? Aft...
