Yep - my 600e has the latest available BIOS. And I've restarted it, also FastBoot option is OFF.
It just does not work.

Hi, has somebody got Puppy 4.2.1 working on Thinkpad 600e ? Have you tried booting with the parameters: pfix=ram acpi=force? That seemed to work for me. Now I only have a 600, YMMV. Yes, I've tested pfix=ram acpi=force, but it did not help. My thinkpad is 600e 2645 and model type is 4A0 . Just a cu...

Hi, has somebody got Puppy 4.2.1 working on Thinkpad 600e ? I don't have sound (known issue) and I don't have PCMCIA working. Puppy just does not detect anything in pcmcia slots. Sluxpup 4.1.2 was more sucessful - found WLAN card in the pcmcia. But that pretty much all - I can't connect to the netwo...

vitasam, I tried a few different things instead of the acpi=force option, ...One of them that I tried (acpi=force acpi_irq_balance <--both together) did result in getting it booted without the IRQ's 10 and 11 being disabled, ! I was able to boot 4.2.1 with pfix=ram and acpi=force, and I can say at ...

Hi, I've installed Slax-Pup 4.12 (full installation to HDD). Everything went smoothly, with default options only (no any acpi=force). It found PCMCIA and module correctly (RaLink RT2561/RT61). But, for some reason I can't connect to the internet, even DHCP seems to get correct IP address. Anyway, it...

I've found a correct type of my 600e. It is 2646-A40 , therefore it is out of list from the web-site: 2645 - 55x, 56x, 57x, 58x, A5x, A6x, Bxx (except for BAU), JJ1, JJ2, RRA I've tested BIOS updaters from 41ww to 46ww but resutl is the same. So, maybe I have the latest BIOS for my model. What else,...

Indeed, this is a very problematic laptop, especially from sound point of view! But to be honest it's one of the most durable laptop I have ever used. Bad thing is: I have that Quick boot option switched Off. And even more - pci=biosirq did not help From Ubuntu Live CD: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ pccardctl st...

At first - I appreciate your help! My laptop is Thinkpad 600e, which has been working previously under Ubuntu and WinXP (few days ago), exactly with this WLAN pcmcia card. So I assume that HW and laptop's BIOS are Ok, because I did not change anything there. This is result from commands: lspci -n 00...

What it a 'root' policy of Puppy?
Sorry if questions are stupid.
Does user have 'root' privilege? And does Puppy have 'user' at all?

Yes, there is another thread where we've switched to WLAN card:

I've answered there that pccardctl status returns No card
