Anybody tried Puppy on the HP MiniNote 2133?

Has anybody tried Puppy on the HP MiniNote 2133? I installed 3.01 on it (on a 16GB ExpressCard SSD). It boots fine, but can't find the hard drive. Also, the wifi card seems to be recognized, but can't connect. This laptop is HP's eee competitor, and has several design advantages over the eee (great ...

Re: re-formatting a truecrypt drive

I made a new TrueCrypt volume to find out it is created as a fat volume that only takes 8 characters! That won't work for me. I ended up booting up Windows and reformatting the encrypted drive with ntfs. I would prefer to format it with a linux file system. I had the same problem, but solved it by ...

mdd, I am using the third (latest) version of PupEee. The key combination of "Fn F2" works for me. It will turn the wireless module on or off. I have found that the wireless kernel modules have to be present to make it work properly. If they are not present, then the key combination will ...

How to turn off/on wifi radio

Does anyone know how to turn the wifi radio off and back on again? Under Xandros, you could do this with Fn-F2, but that doesn't work with pupeee. Since the radio's therefore always on, this has a negative impact on battery life.

Re: Batmon not working on full install of pupeee

Batmon works fine when I boot pupeee from the SD card, but it doesn't work with a full install to the SSD. The full install scenario results in the +_ % problem. Any idea how to fix this? --MDD Ahh. Found the problem. rc.local was empty, so I just added modprobe battery modprobe ac to it and restar...

OK. I sent it out via Express Mail today. They said it would get there by about Jan 14th. mdd, that's incredible! I guess from your post about all the baby laptops you own, you're not short of a dollar or two. But, anyway, if I get Puppy running on it, I'll send it back for your daughter to use. No...

It's designed for kids, so perhaps mimic one. :) When demonstrating the live XO live CD today, I noticed that it can use multiple desktops (activities), but they get shown in the frontpage wheel. When moving the mouse to the borders, the control icons at the borders would show. Pretty neat design, ...

1.8" afapters?

Does anyone know of a good source for adapters for 1.8" IDE drive connectors? My Fujitsu 1510 has one of these tiny things. Apparently it's the same drive that the iPod uses.

I'm having the same problem, when running the latest skype on 2.14 on a variety of laptops. The sound starts out fine, but then the remote person says that my sound starts degrading after a few minutes. This happens with both the ALSA and OSS sound devices selected. It feels to me like a memory leak...

Hmm. After actually looking at the package files, it looks pretty self-explanatory.

Re: Encrypted pup_save for 2.13

I've updated the pup_save encryption for 213. Included in the package below is a modified initrd.gz which will prompt you for a password if your pup_save file has "crypt" in the name. Only ext2 encrypted files are supported and it's been updated to fsck the file on every boot. Also there'...
