https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/17482/why-do-i-have-so-many-vivaldi-processes-running There is, as in all Chromium-based (multi-process) browsers, a process for every tab. Then there is a process for each active extension, one for the renderer, one for the JS engine, and one (in the Case of Vivaldi...

Run "htop" from the main menu. It is usually found under "System->Htop System Process Viewer"

Or open a terminal and run either "htop" or "top" from the command line.

Try Xdialog. There are lots of good tutorials if you just Google it. Here's just one example:

All good, Colonel, certainly no apologies needed. I wasn't chastising, just trying to make a joke that too many mentions of this favorable review might give philb a fat head. Actually it's probably a good thing that multiple mentions have appeared in various places in the forum -- a good Puppy deser...

If you mean "kernel version" then the command "uname -a" will tell you that. If you really mean "ke*nel version" then I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry.

This is (at least) the 3rd reference to Dedoimedo's review, previously mentioned by ally (in the BionicPup64 thread) and myself (in jafadmin's "WOW ---> The Bionic Pups <--- WOW" thread). Careful, lest 666philb start charging us for his work, LOL!

You overlooked the instructions to "delele fake gz"
That means that once you have downloaded the file, you must then rename it to remove the ".gz" part. In other words, change the name of the file to "Puppypin_restore.sh"
THEN click on it.

@rockedge

Very glad to hear that the ActiveState packages worked for you! I've been using them for ages and they are just absolutely the easiest way to get a proper, official, full-blown Python installation on a Puppy.

PM can save images. Most likely it is being blocked by the web site. Instagram for example loves to do this.

Workaround: right-click in some blank spot on the web page. Select View Page Info. Click the Media tab. Then hunt for the desired image. If you find it, you can use Save As to save it.

No, I'm not sure--that's why I hedged and said "I think" ;) I do know that several months ago I tried running the then-current Firefox ESR but gave it up because it wouldn't take my favorite legacy plug-ins. This being the expected result, I didn't look into the issue in any depth. These d...

Doesn't the ESR version of firefox also support an older plugin model that the newer Firefox quantum no longer supports? That was briefly true, but not anymore I think. Since September 2018, the ESR version has been based on Firefox 60.2 or later, and all Firefoxes since 57 (the first Quantum) use ...
