You would have to find the source code for the command and compile it yourself, I suspect. The puppy version of sync is a symlink to busybox. FWIW, I checked and found that "sync" is part of GNU linux "coreutils" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GNU_Core_Utilities_commands Y...

FWIW, I don't find an MX record for murga-linux.com to begin with. Perhaps the forum software is using a different email domain?

Also, regardless of what future plans entail, they should include porting the current data over. The primary value of this site is it's vast reference resource.

1) What is a "lock" file? 2) For the app to encrypt a partition, that partition must first exist. 3) The app uses the standard Xdialog "file select" (fselect) dialog. I'm not sure from your description what the problem is. *4) The app doesn't work with mmcblk devices only because...

@memo "Bitlocker" is the Microsoft brand name for their hard disk encryption system. It doesn't really "lock" anything, it just encrypts it. In Linux, a loop device is a pseudo-device that makes a file accessible as a block device (like a disk). When LUKS first creates an encrypt...

@enrique, "bootlace.com" does NOT equal Grub4Dos. They are two separate things. Even if you had the yaya version of bootlace.com, Grub4Dos as implemented DOES NOT install to a GPT partition. This distinction is important because we don't want to confuse users into thinking that it will. To...

As my final Pro Tip™ , I usually just open the ISO file of the desired puppy OS and copy the needed puppy files into the aforementioned folders, rather than running a install wizard. Typically the ".sfs" files, the "initrd.gz" file, and the "vmlinuz" file. Why do that ...

So if you didn't go into windows and disable secure boot & fast boot before making disk changes, you are probably in a mess. It IS fixable, but complicated. If it was me, I'd either try booting an *Ubuntu iso and disable these features there, or disconnect all possible boot media and network con...

BTW: I just tried the thing of putting puppy in a subdirectory on an SD card and getting Grub4Dos to configure it. I am looking at this as a way to have multiple puppies on the same device without having to break it into multiple partitions. That is my usual method for thumbs w/Grub4Dos. I usually ...

Firefox.sfs is also available via Menu -> Internet -> Get Web Browser and shouldn't have sound problems. I just tried this and had the same result as @PUPYYP. It downloaded and installed as default browser ok, but no joy on the sound issue. Is it possible that it's looking for a PulseAudio driver? :?

Please, please, please .. Stop using your browser to test your network connection. It's like trying to use your television to test electrical circuits.

Use 'ping', please. Run these two commands:

ping 1.1.1.1

ping yahoo.com

If those fail, run 'ifconfig' and share the results with us.

It may just be a desktop link to a folder containing app ".desktop" items.

Mike, I seem to recall there is a CL utility you can run that will display event codes of keyboard and mouse clicks that you press.

I think it is one of the X utilities .. :?
