Excellent effort Iguleder!!!! About a proper web-browser for modern times. Since you seem to have programming skills, probably one could port a webkit browser with a minimal GTK 2.x interface to GTK 1.2 with reasonable effort. The ones I was thinking of are e. g. xombrero (also known as xxxterm) and...

I know it's a bit late, but you can get to the content of your original squashfs file when you boot your computer with something other than the PULP.sfs that is installed on your harddrive. So boot from any Puppy CD rom and you should be able to mount the original sfs to any folder adn then you can ...

Future of pulp
Hey, good to see that some still have interest in my puplet. I'd love to help out, since I have enough time on my hand again. Unfortunately I am currently on a long sailing trip which also means that you will get access to an acceptable internet connection just once every couple of WEEKS!!! So I'm s...

any plans for an new pulp? seamonkey and rox gtk1.2 ? Nope, so far pulp does what I want it to do. It's all free software- so feel free to roll your own. Personally I'd love to see what people can do with GTK 1.2 apps. So far all filemanagers for GTK 1.2 are not ideal (IMHO). Emelfm is a bit awkwar...

i really like the speed of pulp but i would like to go back to rox as the file manager. Need to edit pmount and is there any other apps. need to mod for that? Hm, don't think anything else, apart from pmount, calls the file manager. You can open pmount in a text editor and do a search for emelfm an...

I'm not sure what you have in mind. If you want a google chrome- like os why don't you just use google chrome (at least it is Open source as well, so, every development there could be leaked into Puppy, if need be). Or do you mean a barebones Puppy with just a browser? Well, why don't you just use a...

Ok Christian, can we agree to disagree on Quickpet? Seems like it... However, the main PPM repo definitely does need work. It needs to be separate from all the dpup and old uj stuff and of course needs to be populated. Jupp, some new pets in the PPM repos are needed. A lot of good packages se...

Replying to my own post - but anyways. I remembered where I had seen pwireless before- it looks a lot like wicd. So I figure that it is based on it. I also remembered that early versions of wicd didn't work with wpa. Could it be that pwireless is based on such an early version? Anyone else having pr...

It's pretty much only my resources consumed by Quickpet so that argument is void. We did alot of alpha and beta testing and as far as I know the only issue left is the updating. That's not to say it's perfect, my coding is far from it, but it is stable for a new app. Well, since that there are not ...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul, all I can say is watch us. Quickpet and PPM might evolve together--but already I would say that the Browser-chooser and Quickpet, seem to have been very popular with Puppy users (and I ma not the o...

dpup 484 beta- customized jwmrc-tray and pwireless
OK, I customized my .jwmrc-tray file in dpup 484. Somehow it gets overwritten with the original file from /opt/wbar (I'm sorry if I cant give you the exact paths as I'm not at my puppy machine right now) by certain scripts regularly. So far I identified .xinitrc and dpupstart. I commented out these ...

First of all: Congratulations on Lupu- a big step ahead for Puppy. Anyways- as allways- here are my suggestions for further improvement: Why on earth would you have just an other beta quality packet manager. I mean you finally managed to work out how to tap into the vast ubuntu repositories- every p...
