Thank you, I extracted the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/bin/flash-player=properties and all worked OK. Now I'm realizing that really I should install the whole package as most of the size comes from the libflashplayer.so (12 MB) For some reason I got here because for some reason F...

From someone that could be considered as "gone" according to the original post: There is no need to panic. My reasons, in no particular order - If Puppy were only used by the people that contribute to it, that would be enough. Marketing? Market share? why? - I know many people that use pup...

Thank you piratesmack! This is what makes Linux in general and Puppy in particular great! People that take the time to scratch and itch and in the process, help other people. I have this laptop where I wasn't using Puppy as much as I wanted. The reason? this wacky wireless chipset. I tried to compil...

No, individually the files are small, but I'm wondering if there is a source repository now so they are easier to find.

(I'm not back, I've never left, just don't have as much time as I once did. I still carry puppy with me wherever I go. I also try to keep an eye on how it's going)

Is there a place for me to upload the source for all the menu generators?

I haven't been following the forum so I don't know how that works now.

Hi, I'll look for the latest source I can find.

That link was working up until a few days Ago (I had a couple of presentations there too!

I will upload it to some other place and post it here.

At risk of being outdated here is the answer I know:

Executing the startup script should do the trick.

/etc/rc.d/rc.network

I got the kernel source for my kernel but now it's complaining about linux/autoconf.h.

Should I get the headers from somewhere else?

I can see that I have /usr/src/linux-2.6.33.2 with all the kernel source

but no linux folder under it.

Where are the kernel headers for Puppy lucid 5.0?

It may seem like a beginner question but I haven't had to do it in a long time and I haven't been following the forum. I need to compile a driver for my broadcom wireless card and it requires the kernel headers. I already have the devx file but I've been searching the forum and other sites and I cou...

Sorry for the late response, I've been quite busy at work. Hi rarsa :) Is Vala more secure than C? Or is it how the code is written? Someone responded with "Define security". But based on your question it seems to me that you meant "Safety". Quite similar words, used as synonyms ...

From what I see on that thread, it does not create a menu entry.

If you installed it you will need to execute from a terminal

1. Open a terminal
2. Execute the following command

Code: Select all

nInvaders
Note: The command is case sensitive, use the lower and upper case exactly as shown.

To install pet files you just download them and click them in Rox.

They will install.

To install games, you can do it from the package installer. or using pet files.

What games you want to install?

The way to unload and reload a module is

Code: Select all

rmmod <moduleName>
modprobe <moduleName>
sometimes you need first to unload modules that are dependent on the module you want to unload.

Sometimes you can pass extra parameters to modprobe

Its clearly a matter of preference.
