Lots of heat - very little light. I've read every thread involving ecomoney's bug reports, suggestions, controversies, etc., and I just don't understand how this group of people can be so ingrown, so thin-skinned, so defensive, and can so happily shower so much hatred onto one person who it appears ...

@WhoDo, .... AFAIC your only fault was not saying "Its my way, or, well, thats it", Too much "Benevolent" not enough "Dictator"...GRRRRRR... :) ... Maybe it's because I haven't been here very long, but as a relatively new user, what I've witnessed here so far has appea...

On a default frugal install, would the lock-down procedure prevent users from saving browser bookmarks, word processing documents, etc., or are those things saved by default to /mnt/home or somewhere else outside of the pup_save file?

Re: A Tale of Two Minnows

You already made it very clear that you have resigned. .... and yet there is continued speculation that I might be persuaded to stay on. That is why I made that statem...

Mods, can you just remove this thread already?...I'm sure Whodo won't mind....before it scares away puppy newbees seeing this thread I suspect that it's a little late to prevent that from happening. I LOVE using Puppy on old PCs that I recycle for a charity, but when I see the puppy gnawing off its...

I'm nobody to anybody here. I'm just a recently new Puppy user. You're free to disagree with me or attack me, but I honestly don't see any "threats" or "terrorism." What I see looks to me like over-reaction, petty defensiveness, group-think, misundertanding (intentional or otherw...

I'll add a button to restore those bars as well. Turbopup Alpha 4 will use even less resources and disable even more stuff by default :) Of course, you have the right to spend your time any way you want, and you don't owe any of us anything. But a few pages ago, you posted a screenshot of WIP Alpha...

@gabe
As I stated, 15MB is what it's using after a fresh boot, with nothing running except htop on the desktop. So Seamonkey and other apps will use more RAM.

2 seconds is more than enough time to press a key on the keyboard and stop the counter. I'll assume that you're joking about that, since 2 seconds isn't enough time for people who don't already know what to do to read the message on the screen, let alone find and press the F2 key. Besides, the mess...

I did a frugal install of Turbopup 4.2 Alpha 2 this morning, and then installed ttuuxxx's xsane 0.996 .pet. Wow! Turbopup runs great on that Pentium II -266 with only 160 MB of RAM. And the new xsane runs great, too. On each startup, xsane warns me that it's dangerous to run it as ROOT, but then it...
