Re: Missing icon
Edit: wbar or whatever the dock menu on top remains on StandardSvg icon set no matter what icon pack is applied. The panel is a second jwm tray (jmrc-tray2), it uses the icon image as defined in the .dektop file for the relevant application. It would require manual editing of the config file (~/.jw...

Missing icon
Stardust and Blue-Moon icon sets are pretty but that didn't keep me from trying others out there :) . I downloaded oranchelo-pup and victory icon sets from http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31059&start=375 and used them on both slacko32 6.3 and librepup 6.0.2.2. Librepup handled t...

echinus-0.4.8_abs
Now I've got the wonderful new tiling|hybrid wm: "echinus-0.4.8_abs" running in librepup. (Please see pic below.) Leave a note if interested! :) Looks really nice. Questions: Is your librepup running echinus as its only wm (i.e. jwm removed)? Can you share your echinus puppy package and y...

Semplice Linux
Semplice Linux has been mentioned elsewhere in the forum, mostly by @jakfish. It's a 'lightweight' distro that does not sacrifice ease of use, beauty, upgradeability (a rolling-release), stability (a main edition based on Debian Sid and Workstation edition based on Debian Jessie), etc. Differentiati...

Re: Tahr NOP 6.0.2
Nearly Office Pup is an XFCE based puplet, so called because it is a no frills pup without office apps. The idea being that you install to USB pendrive and add an SFS file of the office package (Libre Office, Softmaker etc). This NOP is based on Tahr 6.0.2 PAE (kernel 3.14.20) with the new XFCE 4.1...

Try the Ninix notification theme to see what notifications look like without my meddling. I didn't notice that the notification theme was not the default one. Good to know there's Ninix and heaps of other gorgeous notification themes. For now it's Smoke theme. ... I changed the DPI too, maybe have ...

Oh boy, loads to catch up on. From a quick glance, looks like the major issues are: 1. Fonts 2. Alsa 3. KVM 4. AMD propriety drivers 5. CB30 touchpad (At least the suspense is resolved...) I'll see what I can do. Thanks for holding the fort Geoff and anyone else that tried to figure these issues ou...

Sound works ok on bootup, however if I do run Alsa Config it doesn't detect any sound cards at all. Have you done the Sound Wizard (Control Panel, Alsa Sound Wizard)? I did and only had to do options ONE to THREE to set sound correctly (THREE is for picking the correct card). After picking the corr...

My third post on R2 is about fonts and the chromebook touchpad. @battleshooter, so sorry for keeping you in suspense :( I previously posted from my mobile on the train to work, a short 25 minutes trip. >>Fonts<< In Puppy (not just Carolina), there are bound to be areas where fonts don't look right. ...

Re: Congrats on Vanguard Release 2
Heh heh. Looking forward to round 2 as well yerc1 ;) Release 2 continues to amaze. It seems snappier than main edition Carolina :?: Default brightness is a bit high for me. Easily fixed by adding xbacklight command with my preferred brightness level to Autostart. Need to run modprobe chromeos_lapto...

This is not a Firefox problem - it exists in every piece of software I have tried in Puppy. And selecting different fonts changes the shape of the characters but they are all still very thin (and tiring for my eyes) compared with how they appear in Xubuntu. ...R It appears (and I can be wrong) most...

@yerc1 Try this zdrv instead of the current one. I've uploaded to the same place as the old zdrv just to confuse you. Just hope I haven't confused myself... ...we'll just try this for now and if it works I'll recompile for the ISO. I need to switch of I2C debugging anyway... hi battleshoote...

Off the top of my head, I seem to remember people deleting their /etc/X11/xorg.conf to let evdev catch the touchpad and activate it correctly. Could give that a go if you'd like while waiting for me to go through the reports. I think then they either edit /usr/X11R7/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synapti...

For some reason the errors didn't turn up in dmesg... Hmmm not sure what happened. The errors were somewhere at the end, but checking on the attachment, I just realised the bzip'd files came up as one huge text file. bummer  Today's build has loads of new kernel options compiled in. Basically...
