Bluetooth
Hi mistfire,
The X101CH has an Atheros AR9285 wireless/Bluetooth chip.
This is recognized (using lspci)
The ATH9K driver is loaded (kernel modules)
But there is no Bluetooth ("no adapters plugged in").
Any tips how I can debug..?
Regards,
Volhout

R31
hi mistfire, It is some time ago since I actively played with X-slack slim. Last one I looked at was R21 I think. Installed R31 on my EEE-PC X101CH and it runs flawless. Used frisbee to connect to wifi (sns does not work well on this EEE-PC). Gnome player works well on this hardware. Playing 720p wi...

Slacko 5.7.1 on Asus X101CH netbook
Hi Sailor Enceladus, Tried you 5.7.1 on my Asus netbook that has succesfully performed for 5 years on Mick0's Slacko 5.7.0. Had used 5.8.3 for few month, but that was less compatible with my SFS's (complained about missing libes, an libs that where not compiled with GCC 2.13....) Running 5.7.1 now I...

Imigrants from windows?
Yes. Newbies are probably immigrants from Windows; less likely Ubuntu; least likely, some other major distro. They are used to Mommy doing everything. Web-browsers are essential. Time enough for them to 'cut their teeth' on some toy they feel they need enough to do a little work to get. I doubt tha...

Wallpaper setter and feh
@jrb Using your script for feh, a copy is made of the default wallpaper as a background for conky. If you change wallpaper using the menu, default is not updated. So you end up with conky backgound of default wallpaper always. This is something that should change in the wallpaper chooser. Or the feh...

@musher0 your proposal worked, I manually tuned the background color. @jrb modified your script to match my needs, but it took me a while before I understood that feh could not handle svg's..... In the wallpapers there are svg's and jpg's. Downloaded a nice wallpaper in jpg, and am happy... Thnx Vol...

Precise Light on Asus EEEpc X101CH
@jrb Your precise booted right to the desktop on the ASUS X101CH. That is unique. Most cases I have to manually direct video to modesetting….. Also on the X101CH shutdown is slow. Cosmetics... trying to to do something about it... will show you once it's done @musher0 Tried your conky and conkyconfi...

seabios / john lewis
@kirk I have the standard seabios boot on my C720. Not sure what the John Lewis rom will do, but I'll look into that. Looks like John got that in one script for all chromebooks, and then there is not much to choose from... But if I understand correct you also had to split initrd for the C720 peppy. ...

C720 not enough memory
hi fatdog team, Just wanted to inform you that I tried fatdog on an Acer C720 (2955U CPU, 2G ram) and it would not boot. Not enough memory. I used the fatdog 631 with C720 patches for a while on this Acer C720, was curious about the new 800 series. This machine must be too old. Keep up the good work...

Slaxxx on C720
Hi ttuuxxx, Tried your slaxxx iso on an Acer C720. Was under the assumption it would be based on Sailors 5.7.1 (kernel 3.18.117 or so). But uname -r showed it was 3.4.xx So it did not support audio on this platform. And it does not support the touchpad. For the rest it looked familiar, booted right ...

Hi vtpup, What is the problem with gallium OS ? According their website the R11 is well supported.... Or don't you like XFCE ? Last 10 years Intel played nasty games with the linux community.
