Where do you get the updated WiFi driver and how do you change the driver?

I am using the old, "classic" model, 110, with 512 MB RAM and 8GB SSD disk. I remember from earlier attempts with Kuki that it's hard to configure correct som that the Wifi connects. Strange, cause the card scans and finds acesspoints, but denies to connect (in this case with WPA encryptio...

Re: Wifi

Booting from the Live CD and using the Network Wizard I can scan for, find, and connect to my wireless network using WEP. I did a frugal install to a USB drive using the Puppy Universal Installer, and Puppy boots fine, but Scan fails to find my network. I have read through the forums and I have see...

My Key in fact is in this form: 1abcd (one number and four letters)
and it sure is WEP, because I use it when I connect other computers to the network, as WEP.
Could this be something specific for Puppy, that it doesn't accept five characters in the WEP key?

Very strange. Causethe wireless works in Ubuntu on AAO and on my other laprop.

In Puppy also trying to set up from command line gives error:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 key 12345
Gives this error message:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) invalid argument "12345"

Tried both open and restricted under security, but neither works. Plus: "running dhcpcd" and gets an ip address, but no connection is made. But connecting to an open network (with no key) works. Also connecting to network via cable works. I have to add that Pupy looks very nice and works f...

Lenovo 3000 N200

Maybe I should try. My Lenovo has 3 gigs of ram so I guess it has to be rather fast running Puppy.

For the moment I have Ubuntu 8.10 installed. Nice distro, but some trouble due to hibernating. Maybe this will work in Puppy?

No WEP key from command line

I try to set up wlan from command line:

setting essid - ok
setting "key open" value gives error: "Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (882A):
SET failed on device ath0; Invalid argument"

So it is'n possible to add the WEP key, and there is no connection.
