I just did it now... All links in the first post should be fixed.. Doesn't work. Well, the site works, but it says you have to press "allow", presumably on some page or pop-up, which never comes up. (actually never mind, you can get them here instead:) https://archive.org/download/Puppy_L...

Sorry for making this topic. It was the most useless thing possible. Completely useless to list the 15-20 Puppies I use. Even more useless to list what Puppy I viewed it in, as it was clearly lower quality as a DVD than watching the file. Turns out Pburn actually has a tool for making .iso files, wh...

I use more than one Puppy. Would you like my IP address? Credit card numbers? Browsing history?

Aside from that, I'd take rockedge's suggestion under advisement, and re-export, using Openshot, to an alternative format. I'd suggest .mp4 or .mpeg.....the latter, especially, being very commonly used over on 'the dark side'. This can then be converted to .vob files, using pBurn, then run through ...

Re: Unfortunately

How was the file created, specifically? What application? under what operating system? Did it create a "Work directory"? and do you still have it? It was done with OpenShot in Puppy. I don't think there is a work directory that I know of. I guess I could export to a different format, but ...

Re: Is it possible to read old Word Perfect files?

I found these old WP files, but Puppy doesn't seem to be able to read them. They are from the late 80s, maybe early 90s. Did you try libre office (most puppies can install it as an .sfs file)? Yeah, that did the trick. Libre Office. For some reason Open Office couldn't read it, although it wasn't i...

.dvd to .iso. How? (solved)

I made a movie and saved it in ,dvd format.

Problem is that I want to burn it to DVD video (not data). I cannot find a single program that will burn my .dvd file to DVD, or at least one that will convert it to .iso so I can burn it to a DVD.

Problems with Amsynth in Saluki and Caroline

It's the only .pet of amsynth I am aware of. I've connected it to a MIDI keyboard by Jack, and I can play the notes. The problem is the sound is bad: I'm constantly getting clicks and it sounds like there's always an LFO on it even when the actual LFO is turned off. I've checked some online demos, t...

Late to the party but... Here's what I used some time ago to disable the keyboard on my laptop when I had a new kitten. I stripped xinput from the pets for size reasons. The XFCE version gave two .desktops that I added to and stacked in the panel and worked perfectly. The LXDE version gave one .des...

You can try pressing at same time : CTRL + ALT + F2 to go to another virtual desktop. Uh-uh, not after your keyboard and mouse is frozen, and give no response at all. :( I've had it respond a minute or two later. Go get a drink, go to the bathroom to pee, whatever. Except do CTL+ALT+Delete and go i...

I'll give those a try sometime, I don't normally use those window managers but they might be useful. I use Saluki/Carolina occasionally but rarely, they have XFCE. I've found two other problems since then: 1. If something is on part of the touchpad, it's basically useless so I need to plug in a mous...

Pretty much any browser will freeze if you have too much stuff and too many pages on at the same time. One solution is to use control/alt/backspace to get into text mode, then type xwin and return to get back to the desktop. You might have to wait after you press ctl/alt/bcksp because sometimes ther...

O.k., I got Lock Keyboard for Baby to work. It also locks the touchpad buttons, so be sure to put on the screen whatever you need to before locking it. The cursor still moves, but you can't click on anything.

Also, the gtk youtube viewer .pets seem to have the necessary dependencies.

I'lll get to it eventually, I've been testing the xinput float command and it works great.

The only caveat it that out of the 8 or so Puppies I regularly use only 2 have xinput, and one of the two has an older version of xinput which is missing the float command.

Which particular program are you referring to? step 4: xinput reattach <id#> <master#> You can also hit enter to clear the gibberish that was typed in before. I don't understand what you mean by that. I'm having a little trouble finding a .pet with Perl. I think you have to load the devx sfs. Just ...

What would be the point of a script if I need to type something to get back in? I thought you still had the mouse to click on an icon with a script to unlock. Sounds good to me. Which particular program are you referring to? I tried the lock. Pretty cool, you can try to get back in and it doesn't s...

What would be the point of a script if I need to type something to get back in? I mean I could find another keyboard and plug it in, as I could find a mouse if I disable the touchpad via FlSynclient, but this is just complicating it. How does that lock function on some Puppies work? I've accidentall...

Is there a way to turn off the keyboard? {solved}

I guess it would have to be a graphic-based program controlled by mouse/touchpad, if it actually exists.

I know you can just unplug the keyboard, but I want to do this on a laptop.

If anybody thinks this is ridiculous, there is actually a way to turn off the touchpad and it is graphics/cursor based.

The fonts are not regulated by the browser settings... they 'tap into' the fonts installed in the computer. So one needs to download a font and put it into the right place. For the place tryto open /usr/share/fonts/default/TTF As for where to get the fonts try Chinese, and Hindi. Regards 8Geee The ...
