I'd do this by moving the window after pressing ALT + F7 your mouse pointer changes into what I call a wind rose -- you can move that window by mouse/touchpad or cursor keys then, so you can reach the outer borders ALT + F7 again to switch back to mouse pointer Thanks for the ideas. Alas, ALT + F7 ...

Re: firefox
I don't think I have a Firefox icon anywhere. Besides, I'm not wanting to maximize it. It's already maximized, I want to reduce the real estate that Firefox occupies.josejp2424 wrote: Shep, right-click the Firefox icon in Lxpanel and select Maximize, this should make the window fit the screen

I've had to move to a more recent Puppy because I kept getting corrupted savefiles I in old Slacko 5.3.1 So now using josejp2424's Slackware Shiba Inu. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=105358 Initially, speedtest gave 1.7Mb DOWN and 0.00Mb UP. So I ran that firmware-b43-installer and...

I'm puzzled by these speed tests, the more it is repeated, the faster the figures. One night after 5 or 6 runs in succession I got the download/upload at speedtest to be 6Mbps and 2Mbps. Tonight I realized I've not tried the 4G phone's speed by itself, so ran it and got download 2Mbps and upload 0.5...

I booted afresh with puppy pfix=ram The netgear isn't recognized, so I tried the Linksys. It is not seen as a network adapter by Puppy Network Wizard, but Pupscan says: Network Controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Vendor: 14e4 Device: 4320 Kernel Driver (builtin): b43-pci-bridge Very s...

Slow wifi: Minatar PCI card downloads 40MB in 10 min
I have a 4G phablet and find it provides a good wifi hotspot for other tablets, so I thought I'd try a wifi card in my Puppy desktop. I dug up 3 wifi cards: net gear, linksys, and minatar, and tried these with 3 different pups I have lying around, Lxtahr, Wary, and Slacko. The only combination where...

I boot from the CD. 15.03pae it says on the screen. Is this a multi-session disc, or do you have a save file/folder on the hard drive? I have the save directory on the HD. On the last two boots the volume control and retrovol have behaved as they should. Neither has there been a duplicate of any ic...

One thing I didn't ask - which version of LxPupTahr are you running? And are you installed frugally - with a savefolder or savefile? - or a full install? If you could test with a frugal install with a clean pristine new save area as suggested by rcrsn51 that would be good. Cheers peebee I boot from...

What are the specs of the computer you are running? P4, 2.2GHZ, 1.5GB The system tray icon anomalies you describe may be connected to the speed of your cpu....also have you been logging out to the terminal in any way (like ctrl-alt-delete) rather than through the session manager? No, I click on pow...

I have been using LxPupTahr for a couple of weeks. There are a few observations I can make that might be of interest to anyone considering using it. A number of times after booting it has, in the lower right corner, 2 identical network icons and 2 identical HDD green cylinders. This seems to have no...

Hi Semme. If that's the answer to my question, I don't think it's exactly what I'm after.Semme wrote:http://lx-pup.weebly.com/upup-tahr.html
For example, I'd like to install mplayer and python, and perhaps Skype and Firefox.

If you added firefox then clicking on the save file is the way to go. wherever firefox is...common place is /usr/lib/firefox. Once you find it just click on the firefox script in there. You could always copy it out into what you have now too... you could also rescue you old profile from /root/.mozi...
