Re: new2dir installs immediately
I have been compiling. I have found that new2dir creates the directory to make a .pet, but it installs on the system as well. That is not nice. PPM does not know about it. . Yes, 'new2dir' has always done that. You can take a backup of your savefolder before running 'new2dir'. Then after running 'd...

You can add the parameter TZ to your kernel boot parameters, for example: ... pfix=ram TZ=EST5EDT ... but the TZ variable usually is the name of a timezone file, and the initrd does not have those files. Maybe something like TZ=UTC+5 would work, I haven't tried it. For Brisbane, Australia the corre...

If I may, I would like to make a suggestion concerning f2stickpup and multiboot support. What if by default, or as an option, the 'puppy' files were installed 2 dirs deep? Without much modification, I'm sure then the 'boot' facility could easily detect whatever pups are installed and modify the app...

do you know what particular things need to be added in my DOTconfig for mmc storage support? Try checking the following settings: CONFIG_MISC_RTSX=y CONFIG_MISC_RTSX_PCI=y CONFIG_MISC_RTSX_USB=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_PCI=y CONFIG_MMC_RICOH_MMC=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_ACPI=y CONFIG_MMC_SDHC...

@peebee, I downloaded 'devx_ScPup32_20.06.sfs' and tried to compile kernel v5.4.46 in 'ScPup32_20.06', using the latest Woof-CE 'kernel-kit'. It failed trying to compile the DOTconfig editing utility. Seems there is no '/usr/include/linux' directory in 'devx_ScPup32_20.06.sfs'. I had to go back to S...

gyro, this is just an alternate kernel offering, correct? It doesn't directly address the items I'm looking for here , right? Correct, the diffference between this and the release kernel, is that it's compiled from newer source, and that: This kernel provides much improved support for mmc storage d...

Connect to wi-fi using ethernet port, and a small device
I sometimes find myself working on a compuer that usually connects to the network via ethernet, but now is in a place with no ethernet available, but where there is wi-fi. The usual solution would be to plugin a usb wi-fi adapter. But with many of the recent usb wi-fi adapters I have tried, I very f...

This init works for me too. Either with gyro's or with original lxpup kernel. Yes, the original kernel already had the drivers for your mmc hardware builtin, whereas it did not for 01mico's Dell. I think you had the problem because the 'init' script was aware of your mmc device. The lack of kernel ...
