I don't know but unmount from the console does not work either. surely it is time to rename 4.2 "deep hole" Samba doesn't want to work either. so I am off to 4.12 "shallow hole perhaps" until all is fixed or unfixed as the case may be. sorry, Just taking out my frustrations. anot...

Hi Thanks for replying. I was so frustrated that today I went and got a new NIC a Gigabit TP-link TG-3296 Au$25. Worked straight out of the box and accepted the IP with no problems as well. It did not complain at all. So my headache is gone. Now is the old nic faulty or just lacked the correct drive...

well Actually I rang the netgear help line and the guy said to upgrade the firmware. and do factory default. but it did not help. anyway the other day my daughter said netgear is blocking her myspace! hay thanks for the help. The network is up and running and I know what to do if it drops out now. I even managed to install firelog and xnetload to monitor the traffic. Network looks good. X11vncserver with puppy
hi,
I installed X11vncserver and i was able to run VNC.
so my problem is solved.
but...does x11vncserver or tightvncserver require each other?
just wondering. can I uninstall tightvnc andstill use x11vncserver?
