Correct. Just copy and paste it into your terminal program. If it gives you an error, make a copy, remove the " and try again. Won't hurt anything.

Re: Chrome Fonts

Are similar manual edits to the default config file for Seamonkey ? If I do all of the following the problem should be solved, in both Fluppy 005 and in Lucid 5.1.1? You don't have to do anything to a config file for Seamonkey. You do both for for Fluppy, assuming you are using Chrome in it. I don'...

Re: Chrome Fonts

The problem is more subtle but exists in Seamonkey 2.0.8 as well. Look at Jemimah's response. That fixed the problem. Jon OK, so adding fonts should work in Seamonkey as well as Chrome and Firefox? Sounds simple ... and that worries me ... I did it in Puppy 4.3.1 in Seamonkey and it worked. ...

Jemimah,
Any chance you can fix the Fluppy 006 iso and repost it? I've got an old laptop I'd like to try with it, and it can't boot from USB, only CD.

Thanks.

Read here: http://puppeee.com/bb/topic/chrome-and-firefox-browser-not-showing-fonts-properly Thanks. I forgot that you have your own forum also. BTW, the script for extra fonts has a mistake in it. An stray " is in it. I posted a correction on your forum. The fixes you describe fixed the displ...

Chrome Fonts

I've got Fluppy 006 working pretty much the way I want it now. Printing works, suspend and lid switch works, it looks good, fast and responsive. The last thing that is bugging me is font rendering in Chrome. Take a look at this page in Chrome: http://deals.woot.com/sellout The fonts are all messed u...

We can have our own PPM, but between supporting and developing both Puppeee and Fluppy, I don't have time to maintain it. I need dedicated help by someone familiar with packaging to make it happen. Jemimah, I understand. I wish I had the skills to help. BTW, I just realized that I was reading and s...

rcrsn51, Thank you, that worked! I note that the filter package is newer than the one in PPM, which must be a key to this working. You are a master of CUPS, which I wish wasn't necessary for Linux. A print system that "just worked" would be a godsend for Linux. The 2600n has always been so...

Ok, got it. I'm away from that computer at the moment, but it looks like the filter package is later than the one in PPM. Everything seems to install ok, and I can set the printer properties, but it always gives me the foomatic error. I will give it a try later and report back. Do you know what chan...

Try as I might, I cannot get printing to work with CUPS and my HP 2600n printer in Fluppy 006. I could get it to work in Fluppy 005, and it works in Puppy 5.1.1, by installing several pets, including foo2zjs-hp-cp1215-i486.pet, foo2xxx_r220909-0.0-i486.pet, and foomatic from the PPM in Fluppy. The f...

Speaking of Chrome; any chance of getting Chrome 6.x in the next version of Fluppy? Some add-ons, specifically Ad Block, don't work in 5.x. Plus Chrome sync is not fully functional in 5.x. Both fluppy05 and fluppy06 have Chrome 6. Uhhhh, Jeremiah, "About Google Chrome" gives me this in Fl...

Thought you'd like to know that Fluppy 006 made the lid switch and the sleep button work. The mute button still doesn't, but I assigned another key combo to that, so all is good. Thanks. I don't think the purpose of a dual band router is to use both bands simultaneously. I don't see the advantage for this. Big advantage is an increase in connection speed. If implemented properly, the two bands can combine their data capabilities and move more data faster. Or, you can use them separ...

I HAVE both the router and the card to support both. You CAN get faster speeds with both enabled. And they do work under Win 7. Just trying to get them to work together under Puppy. Have anymore useless comments? Jon I've got a simultaneous dual band (2.4 and 5 ghz) wireless n card in my laptop. It ...

Dual Band Wireless n

I've got a simultaneous dual band (2.4 and 5 ghz) wireless n card in my laptop. It shows my wireless router as two different routers, both with the same SSID, one on 2.4 and one on 5.0. The router is also simultaneous. I have the same WPA key on both. With Puppy Lucid 5.1.1, I can hook up to either ...

Those are supposed to produce either keyboard or acpi events. If neither happens, I have no idea how to fix it. I tried to capture the acpi events in the terminal again, saw nothing, but went to the log file, and here is what I found: (snip) This tutorial should work with Puppy. http://wiki.archlin...
