Found a workaround
OK, Found a workaround. TL;DR: Use Frisbee network setup if you compile a wifi driver. Detailed answer: Well after trying to figure how to get the driver to work with network wizard which has been my favorite net setup utility since it's inception as I have found it to be quite versatile at anything...

RTL8822bu wifi drivers work in Xenial but not Bionic(Solved)
Hi, I downloaded this driver https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2BU_WiFi_linux_v5.3.1_27678.20180430_COEX20180427-5959 and separately compiled it for each Xenial64 and Bionic64. The Xenial works like a champ. The Bionic does work but it throws a error when trying to associate with the router via wpa_su...

Give details on what you do. What is Slacko installed on? If USB flash drive or you have it running in ...

Lost mouse and keyboard after upgrade
Hey Puppy Fans! I have a heavily tweaked to my liking 32bit savefile that made the upgrades over the years from Slacko 5.6>5.7>6.3.2 with minimal effort needed. But when I upgraded to 6.9.9.9, The keyboard and mouse stopped working. I eventually figured out to switch over to USB KB/Mouse and unplug ...

Hello Puppy users!
Just thought I'd drop a note for any users still looking for a copy of this pet while Russ is working on his new site. I found one at

I found this little Gem
I searched a few times several years ago about the size of icon-themes.cache. Mine was like 22 meg and taking up a lot of my savefile. Never found anything back then but I decided to search again as it starting to really be the biggest file in my slim savefile. Sure enough I hit paydirt when Geoffry...

Yes, That link for alienbob's PepperFlash is going to be helpful to anyone who reads this subject. The only downside is getting it into the right directory. But hey, That's part of the fun not using Micro$oft! I much rather be able to look under the hood of my O/S and get a clear picture. 20/Gb/Mo. ...

You will find that going to 'chrome://plugins' in Chromium will not, for some reason, show you the updated flashplayer. Instead, go to Adobe's own 'checker page':- I found a work around for this if you are starting chrome or chromium from a script like /usr/bin/chromium or /opt/google/chrome/chrome...

Thanks J_D_ ! that is what I was looking for. Looking at the two strings, The major difference between the two was that Firefox is reporting a version 17 user agent with puppy. (mint is using 31). Now that I know that, I manually edited my user-agent to find which version yahoo would allow to displa...

Semme, I see from the address that you are using in.yahoo.com. I went there and everything is fine using a linux agent.
If you set the browser to go to www.yahoo.com it should be like what I posted.
