My limited testing suggests it's gonna require several libs NOT supplied by PPM. Go with this portable 9.0.570.0 halfway down the page. Rename it chromium, then place the executable in /root/my-applications along with my script (ditto the following), which you're gonna rt-clk, *file* >> permissions...

AMD processors don't work with Chromium
ChrisOfBristol Unfortunately, Chromium and Chrome do not support most Athlon-XP processors or anything else under an i686. I think it's something to do with the SSE instruction. In your case you will need to stick with Seamonkey/Firefox/Opera or at least something other than chromium. Thanks for th...

Wary 5.3 and Quickpet
Are you sure you're talk'n Wary, cause I don't see a Quickpet anywhere? This a hd install? It's definitely Wary 5.3. I installed Quickpet from Puppy Package Manager. Yes, this is a hd install. It's now in the menu under Setup>Setup Puppy>Quickpet. Should I try installing Chromium from Puppy Package...

I'm having all kinds of trouble installing anything from either Puppy Package Manage or Quickpet on Wary 5.3. I downloaded Chromium 9 from Quicpet and when It said it was successfully installed, I clicked on Chromiun in the menu and it wouldn't come up. I tried using the console, and it won't come u...

Get Flash
You might want to use GetFlash , instead (if it's not already installed on your system (look for "GetFlash Install Flashplayer" in the Internet section of your Puppy menu)). It'll check to see whether or not you have the latest version of Flash, and offer to install (or reinstall) one or ...

Uploading photos to eBay
I don't know if Java Script is enabled or not. I'm running Firefox (also tried uploading photos with SeaMonkey and same results--won't upload photos), and have looked for Java Script in Tools, Preference, and other places and see no mention of Java Script. So, if I have to add that myself, it's not ...

Flash Player for Wary Puppy 5.3
what is Wary Puppy 5.3 based on? Would that be .deb, ubuntu, .rpm, or which? My current Flash Player is not doing the job so I went to the Adobe Flash Player website to download the newest version. Which do I choose to install for Wary Puppy 5.3? YUM for Linux .tzr.gz for other Linux .rpm for other ...

Uploading photos to eBay
I have tried Puppy Wary 5.3 and Puppy Slacko 5.3.3 and I can't upload photos to eBay which I really need to do. I can upload phtotos from Vector Linux 6.0 without any problems. I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but it still won't upload photos to eBay. Does anyone know why?...

Part of Komposer package
Not sure about libxpsom_compt.so, but those others are from the *komposer* pkg. When you're missing a dependency, here's an easy way to find out where it's from.. Semme, You said "the others are from the Komposer pkg". So, I downloaded Komposer-0.8-dpup, and got an even bigger mess. It sa...

Missing libraries
I just ran Puppy Package Manager and expected it to put stuff where it belongs. Whereever it put it is where it went. And, no, it doesn't run at all. I uninstalled it since I can't use it. I do have another question though. Is it necessary to update each repo entry individually? Like puppy-5, then p...

Skipstone is missing libraries in Wary 5.3
I just installed Wary 5.3, full install. From Puppy Package Manager, I downloaded skipstone-0.9.7 from the puppy-4 repo. Before I installed skipstone, it said "It seems dependencies are already installed" so I figured no problem. It said skipstone was successfully installed. Then it checke...

Uploading photos to ebay fails
I'm running Slacko 5.3.3 and I've tried to post photos on ebay for selling and when I click on "Add Photos" a window should open for you to choose which photos to upload and post. But, with both SeaMonaky 2.9.1 and Firefox Nightly, that window does not come up. I click on "Add photos&...

Card reader not showing on desktop
Most digital cameras have a small internal memory. This is usually sufficient for just a few shots. To access it requires attaching the camera to the computer via a lead of some sort, then getting the computer to acknowledge the device. In a perfect world it works first time - in the real one it ca...

USB flash card
Sorry if this comes out as a double post: Why would Lucid Puppy, gtkam read the flash card and not the camera connected direct? Or, Do I use the same software or something else to read the flash card reader? If Lucid doesn't detect the camera itself, why would it detect the flash card reader? Yeah, ...

Flash card suggestion
Fossil, You said, "A USB Compact Flash card reader might prove to be the simplest option." This camera has an internal flash card and can also use a separate CF card slot. Why would the Lucd Puppy software for the Kodak DC 3200 read the seaparate CF flash card and not detect the camera? Ca...

Installing Kodak DC 3200 camera
I need a digital camera so I checked the list of cameras that gtkam camera manager has listed and bought one of those, assuming it would work. I have a DC 3200 Kodak camera and when I try to install the software in gtkam, I get the message that the camera is not detected. I first hooked up the seria...

CatDude, You did it! That solved the problem. I've never noticed the "grippy" thing. BTW (sorry for the dumb post-so many versions of Puppy!--Thanks programmers for the choices.) I'm running Wary 5, and .deb files work for installation OK. Thanks for mentioning that the other icons in navi...

Lost URL bar
