They installed well from those sources. I started VLC from the terminal and it works well so far with DVD, avi, and even flv. Woohoo! My only beef would be that, when you click open, disc, and type in device name (for file path to DVD) it doesn't remember it after closing, as it does on other distro...

I downloaded the 3 files. Tried to install the two libraries first, the installer gave me expansion errors on both.

The VLC pet installed fine, aside from noting the missing dependencies.

The program actually starts up without them, although it's non-functional due to missing dialog widgets.

I installed the VLC .pup package from www.puppylinux.org and it works good on Puppy 4. Sound and video are fine with .avi files and DVDs. Strangely enough it goes "unrecognized format" when I try an .flv file (although gxine plays them).

I installed your most recent VLC pet, and it worked fine except no sound with DVD. I installed the Jack pet above and told VLC to use it and still no luck. Then I installed the VLC .pup I got from puppylinux.org (over the other install, letting it over-write the library files) and now sound works wi...
