LANDisk Samba shares

Hi I thought I would try the latest Slacko. But one essential requirement is that I must be able to connect to my LANDisk. Until today I had both Puppy 4.3.1 and Slacko-5.3.1 as frugal installations on my Acer laptop HD. But I have just upgraded the Windows on the same HD to Windows 8(sad isn't it!)...

Puppeee 4.4 Beta Testing

Is the new pnethood working well? Does all your multimedia play? Does printing work? Sorry been out of action for the last couple of weeks. But today I have given Puppeee 4.4 Beta a run. Unfortunately pNethood is not working for me in 508 version with my Samba LANDisk whereas it works in 504 (excep...

Testing

Beta 3 has been uploaded. http://puppeee.com/web/blog/puppeee-44-beta-3-released/ @jemimah I am running this now. Seems fin. Is there anything in particular I should test compared with puppeee-1.0? (which is my main OS on my eeePC901) and works just great. The lid suspend is perfect and I am now a ...

Re: Chrome Fonts

The fonts fix worked just great. Thanks & Rgds Mike Look at Jemimah's response. That fixed the problem. Jon OK, so adding fonts should work in Seamonkey as well as Chrome and Firefox? Sounds simple ... and that worries me ... I did it in Puppy 4.3.1 in Seamonkey and it worked. Not as many...

Re: pNethood

The main problem for me is after it finds shares and mounts them, Rox Filer is does not show the files (just a mounted unnamed folder). If I navigate to the mount point and open a terminal, "ls" shows the correct files and sub-folders. Does clicking the ROX Rescan button have any effect? ...

pNethood

Unfortunately pNethood is still broken in my tests with my Samba LANDisk. I reported on Barry's blog the same problem with Q112. The main problem for me is after it finds shares and mounts them, Rox Filer is does not show the files (just a mounted unnamed folder). If I navigate to the mount point an...

My tests on lupu-501

Hi Decided to give lupu-501 a run. I use 431 (with quite a few additional pets eg. FF) daily. Unfortunately one key thing for me does not work. First tests V3

Just testing a fresh frugal install of 4.3.2v3. Most things look good. One problem I had (same in 431 and derivatives e.g. Stardust) is that my WiFi router is not found in the scan using the default module(ath5k I think). It find other WEP's in my locality but not my WPA. So I had to resort as I hav...
