I have tested on another machine running Racy 5.5 and BK's pet works with https. As I suggested earlier I think this is a security protocol issue because I vaguely remember updating libssl manually on this second machine. What baffles me is why Barry found he needed to change connection to https. Ma...

Confirmed that BK's updated getflash does not work on Racy. Barry has changed url to https at line 26. Possibly server terminates connection because it does not like security protocol offered. If you have a problem with your version of Puppy change back to http in line 26 in /usr/sbin/getflash and i...

Vivaldi will probably be the best Chromium based browser eventually given the track record of the ex-developers of classic Opera. However, at present only a 64bit version is available. If you an old Opera fan and have a 64bit Linux OS you will certainly be interested. https://vivaldi.com Even if a 3...

IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTICE Anyone using my Opera 12.16 SFS need to be aware of a security issue. Opera 12.16 has SSL 3 enabled by default but this is now considered an insecure protocol and should be disabled. In Opera go to Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Security>Security Protocols and disable SSL 3. T...

Hi Griot. Yes, this has always been a problem with Opera. I gave up trying to find a solution. Maybe Opera deliberately analyzes content as a security feature and identifies .pet as .gz file content. I never thought it was a major problem because it is so easy to change the file extension when the d...

Thanks mavrothal. Works for me without any problems. Great to see Racy/Wary being supported with security patches. :)

Newest version of Opera 12 is 12.17, which has been out for a while. Any chance of an updated SFS and Pet? No. Opera 12.17 is a fix for Windows only. In light of the recently reported OpenSSL vulnerability, Heartbleed, Opera has released an update to its latest Opera Presto version 12.16. Sigbjørn ...

Versions of openssl before 1.0.1 do not have the heartbleed vulnerability. Racy and Wary use version 0.9.8 and definitely do not suffer from this vulnerability. :) Beyond that it is hard to clarify the facts from the media hysteria. Linux servers using openssl 1.0.1 were in danger of leaking usernam...

Terryphi, Is it possible that you need to include the space before the comment hash so that sed clips right back to the end of the text without leaving a space on the end of the line?
