slim savefile
A strategy that works for me is to avoid having a savefile all together because I have enough RAM (4G) and I use the cloud (Google Drive/Dropbox) and seldom save stuff locally. I edit puppy_precise_5.7.1.sfs using editsfs.pet to.... 1. bypass firstrun screens/2-barks: > create symlink /etc/localtime...

I then symlinked some files to /usr/lib from Seamonkey's folder that are needed by Google Chrome. ... I also found it necessary to symlink /lib/libudev.so.1.3.0 as /lib/libudev.so.0 I gave up on Quirky 6 as my main OS some time ago because I could not get Google-Chrome to run. These are the instruc...

Re: My report on Quirky 6.0
XBMC running under wine works well with the proprietary nvidia driver installed. Billtoo, have you considered running openelec (a lean version of xbmc) vs xbmc on wine/quirky? I multi-boot openelec off of the same Quirky 6 USB stick with Precise 5.7.1 in it as well. Openelec runs lightning fast bec...

Hi @Timothyli And, as suggested, if could be a video driver issue on the local PC. My ignorance in this matter suggest that it could be the fact of HTML5 (Chrome) vs Flash (Seamonkey) or it may be a codec issue (version). Again, my ignorance suggest this. Hope this helps Thanks for the suggestion. ...

This is more about Seamonkey than Quirky6. Does anyone know why this video podcast, one of my favourites, is so laggy under Seamonkey? http://twit.tv/show/this-week-in-google/231 I have Chrome browser on my other puppies and it plays fine under Chrome. By the way I just did a fresh install of 6.1.2...

I upgraded to 6.1.1 and the wallpaper setter seemed to be broken for me. I no longer can simply drop an image file in the /usr/share/backgrounds folder and set it as my wallpaper with the options of stretched, centred or tiled. When I tried to select an image, Quirky throws out an error message: &q...

I just bought a USB 3.0 32GB Lexar Jumpdrive Model S33 from Bestbuy for $14.99. It is rated at 100 MB/s read and 55 MB/s write. The first thing I did was to put Quirky 6.1 on it and It ran buttery smooth. Sweet :). With the newer USB drives coming down in price and getting faster, I think Quirky 6 i...
