How to read PUP001 config file from CD?
I have a Puppy configuration the way I want it. The preferences (and additional files) are kept in the PUP001 file on the local HD. I'm trying to take this configuration, and burn it to a seperate, ultimate boot CD, from which I would have a choice to boot Puppy off this CD. I am trying to get Puppy...

Start Linux from DOS-Bootable CD
I have configured linux to boot from a DOS-Booted HDD easy enough, using GRUB.EXE as the boot loader and the menu.lst like this: title Puppy RAM rootnoverify (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/ram noapic PFILE=pup001-none-131072 PHOME=hda1 initrd /image.gz I'm trying to do effectively the save thing,...

My first remastered LiveCD...failed. Whad I do wrong?
I followed AlienX procedure for remastering from a LiveCD. I have a machine, with no HD, 1GB of RAM. Everything appeared to create correctly. Two issues: 1) When I boot, I don't see the graphic boot screen...I only get the boot.msg 2) I get this message: Sorry, cannot start X. File /usr/X11R6/bin/x ...

Pizzasgood....you're my hero! 8) As a newbie (just discovered on Sunday) I'm trying to remaster my own, scaled-down puppy, to become a Rescue Console (I call it my St. Benard puplet...). Having to get up to speed in a hurry has been a challenge, and I've been wondering how I was going to uninstall a...

IceWM loses DotPup package installer off Start Menu
I install IceWM, and restart, Start / Setup / DotPup package installer is replaced with "DotPup Rox-app packages" and takes me to www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/DotPup website instead! To get back to the DotPup package installer, I have to go to Start / Window Manager, Jwm. But when I do that,...

How to Install IceWM
I'm installing the IceWM window manager, and the XP Theme for IceWM. After install, it says it should be in my IceWM menu. I don't have an IceWM menu.

Remastering LiveCD in RAM
I read somewhere about being able to remaster a LiveCD all in RAM if I had at least 1 GB. I'm trying to do this within VMWare...I've got a machine with 1 GB of RAM. How do I make this happen?

St. Bernard Puppy - Creating a rescue Puppy :D
I'm trying to create my own Puppy, that has just the tools I need to backup/restore a drive/partition image and perhaps even scan/repair a vfat/FAT32 partition. This would make for a very small, fast, on-board "Recovery Console). A couple tools I'm needing, and struggling on figuring out how to...

How do I umount /mnt/home (to backup /dev/hda1)
I just recently discovered Puppy as I was looking for a way to have a free, open-source, Linux-based on-board imaging (backup/restore) solution, and found that I need something that can run completely from RAM...hence, I found this wonderful distro. So, I have a single drive, single parition (FAT32)...
